Best recommandation : wash your face ALL the time.

My foot odor ...

The reason for foot odor are sweat-eating bacteria.

It starts when bacteria become attracted to the sweat on your feet and start feeding on it.

Our foot has over 250,000 sweat glands in it , and produces over a pint of sweat a day so there's a lot for the bacteria to eat.

Much worse are shoes and socks which trap the sweat on your skin.

Now the bacteria have their favorite kind of environment : dark and damp, causing them to go into a feeding frenzy.

Some tips to reduce foor odor :

Always wear clean socks.

It is even recommended you change sock throughout the day.

Wash your feet with anti-bacterial soap.

This won't lessen the sweat, but it will kill bacteria.

Give a pair of shoes 24 hours to air out after every wearing.

The sweat will evaporate.

Avoid restrictive shoes like, boots.

Well-ventilated shoes whisk away sweat.

Wear socks made of absorbent materials, like cotton.

The sock will soak up the sweat leaving the bacteria nothing to feed on.

Apply antiperspirant to you feet.

Milk cows or Soy beans ?

Judging by the dairy case at the supermarket, ever-increasing numbers of Americans are settling back with tall, cool glasses of Not-Quite-Milk.

Soy, rice, and lactose-free products occupy as much shelf space as, or more than, regular ol' cow juice.

Recent concerns about the artificial growth hormones used in many dairy cows have increased the audience for ersatz milk beyond vegans, vegetarian eco-hippie types, those with milk allergies, and the lactose-intolerant.
A baby under one-year-old should be drinking neither soy milk nor cow's milk, but rather should be drinking breastmilk or a formula that can be either soy based or dairy based.

Most pediatricians recommend a dairy based formula for infants because it more closely matches breastmilk. Both formulas will provide comparable nutrition because they are required to meet strict government standards regarding nutrient levels.

The Truth About Back Pain

There are many different reasons that people have back pain but the most usual reason is poor posture.
If a person constantly sits or stands incorrectly, a sore back is often the outcome.
We were often told by our parents to "sit or stand up straight" as children and they were correct. For a person that has had poor posture their entire lives, eventually their joints damage and start wearing out.
Unfortunately, the back pain caused by this is as severe as a person that had an accident.
There are other causes of back pain and understanding them helps us to avoid or deal with back pain.

If your back pain is persistent then it is time to see a doctor.
The doctor will be able to run tests to find out why you are in pain and the different treatments available to bring you relief from this pain. Usually for less severe back problems, within two weeks of starting treatment, there will be relief from the pain.

The Secret of the Nice Skin

A new American research shows that this amount of tea would decrease the risk of developing skin cancer.

The team made a comparison between the amount of tea consumed by 1,400 patients with skin cancer and 700 subjects who had not developed the disease.

Tea chemicals had been found to induce an overall protective effect, but British cancer experts say that tea is the most effective against skin cancer.

The research made at Dartmouth Medical School, New Hampshire, surveyed two types of skin cancers: 770 subjects with basal cell carcinoma and 696 with squamous cell carcinoma, all diagnosed between 1993 and 1995 or 1997 and 2000.

Sunlight is the main factor triggering the disease in roughly 90% of cases.

In UK alone, 70,000 people are affected by cancer yearly.

Young skin tips

Your skin mirrors your lifestyle.

It reflects what you eat, drink or do.

So invest on your skin - keep it young with these simple lifestyle pointers.

Drink Plenty of Water - This aids in the elimination of wastes and toxins from the skin.
Adults need 1 to 1.5 liters of water a day.

Sleep - Get enough of it.
Skin renewal occurrence increases when you sleep. Tiredness deprives skin of the energy needed to recover and regenerate.

Frowning causes worry lines and constant stress emits negative energy to the skin.
For stress-relief, treat yourself to yoga classes, massages, or even a leisurely spa session.
For a quick fix, try lying down face up, close your eyes, and feel the muscles in your face relax. Do this for 60 seconds every time you feel the tension in your facial muscles.

Pain Killers - Beware

Dr. Bellonzi's approach is different than a conventional medical approach.
It's called functional medicine. Instead of just addressing the symptoms of the pain, you attempt to locate an underlying cause for the pain and address that and he has had success at eliminating chronic pain from some people.
Since 1998, Dr. Bellonzi has practiced in the Austin area. He works with athletes at every level to provide sports conditioning and rehabilitation.

Tennis Elbow Treatment

Shockwave therapy is a controversial treatment option for tennis elbow.
The idea behind shockwave therapy is to use sound waves to induce so-called 'micro trauma' to tissues.
This micro trauma initiates a healing response and helps to decrease inflammation.
There are several possible surgical treatments that have been successful.
These include removing a portion of the damaged tendon or releasing the attachment of the affected tendon.
A repair of the healthy portion of tendon is sometimes carried out as well.

Surgery to release the damaged tendon is usually successful, but rarely needed; about 95 percent of patients with tennis elbow can be treated without surgery.

A variety of conservation treatments should be tried prior to opting for surgery.

How to get rid of headache without pills

Headache is almost never located in the brain.

There is actually not much ability at all to sense pain in the mass of the brain - surgeons do for instance not use anesthetics on the brain when they perform brain surgery.

Headache is almost always located in the muscles of the head - caused by tension built up during long time in these muscles.

Here some tips :
  • Open your mouth wide and rotate the jaws from time to time.
  • never let your rows of teeth meet each other any other times than when you are chewing something.
  • make rotating movements with the shoulders.
  • Tip your head slowly to the sides and stretch out the muscles of the neck.
  • Drink enough water ...

What is syphilis?

Syphilis (say: "siff-uh-liss") is a serious infection passed from one person to another during sexual contact. It's caused by a bacteria (germ).

You could get syphilis by touching the blood or sores of a person who has syphilis, especially sores on the person's mouth, penis, vagina or anus (the opening to the rectum).
Syphilis can be cured with penicillin.
The penicillin is given as a shot.
For primary-stage syphilis, you only need to get 1 shot.
For secondary-stage syphilis, you will need 2 shots. If you're allergic to penicillin, be sure to tell your doctor.

If you have an advanced case of syphilis, you may need stronger treatment.
You may get shots of penicillin every day for 10 days.
This can be done in the doctor's office or at a clinic.
A few people have to go to the hospital to get penicillin put into their veins.

If you're pregnant, it's very important to get treated right away.
Syphilis can cause birth defects and even death in an unborn baby.

Fire burn - Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has been traditionally used for burn healing but clinical evidence remains unclear.
We conducted a systematic review to determine the efficacy of topical aloe vera for the treatment of burn wounds.
As generations of mothers already know, Aloe Vera really is a miracle plant when it comes to treating burns from fires but many people don’t realize that Aloe Vera is also a great treatment for nearly any type of burn, including sunburns, burns from hot surfaces and liquids, steam burns and even to some extent radiation burns.
Even the FDA (food and drug administration) has acknowledged the amazing healing properties of Aloe Vera when it comes to the first-aid treatment of a wide variety of burns.

Acne Myths

1. Sun is great for acne

Sun may temporarily mask your acne, tighten up pores, or dry up the oil glands.
However, the sun will also damage your follicular walls and those lesions will trigger an inflammatory response that shows off as acne breakouts that may not surface for 3-4 weeks after your sun exposure.

2. Washing your face more often will help clear up acne

Facial blemishes are not caused by dirt. Contrary to what you may have seen in commercials, pores do not get blocked from the top down, except by certain cosmetics.
Rather, an entire pore collapses from deep within the skin, starting acne formation.
Frequent washing does nothing to prevent this.
Over-washing is actually irritating, and excess irritation can worsen acne.
A washcloth can aggravate this situation further.
Use bare hands to wash and only wash twice a day.

\ways to treat mosquito bites

Summertime may be everyone’s favorite time of year, but mosquito bites can cause a great deal of irritation.

Here you will find a list of ways to treat mosquito bites.

  • Calamine lotion, otherwise known as the pink stuff, still works.

  • If you think it, it will disappear! It might sound crazy and those around you might think you’ve lost it, but this really works for some people. Just close your eyes and say “I feel no pain” or “I do not itch”.

  • Try tea tree oil. You can find this almost anywhere thanks in large part to the internet, but you can also find some at a health food store.

  • Rub raw garlic over the bites.

  • Make a paste of water and baking soda and put a dab of paste on your bites. Other pastes that you can make consist of: salt and water or salt and butter.

  • Apply cold compresses. Whether you use a face cloth, a towel, or you fill a ziplock bag with ice, make sure it’s cold.

  • Aloe vera, whether in gel form or straight from the plant itself, works magic with mosquito bites. Simply apply it to the bite and forget about it.

  • Toothpaste or hemorrhoid cream works on the bites as well.

The more you scratch a bite, the worse it is. The scratching can also lead to scarring and infection of the bite. If the bite gets infected, contact your doctor for proper treatment.

    Wake up pills ???

A June 2000 study published in Psychopharmacologia studied the drug's effects on people's abilities to accomplish demanding tasks despite a lack of sleep.

At the United States Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory in Fort Rucker, Alabama, six pilots were kept awake continuously for two forty-hour periods.

They were given Modafinil in one session and a Placebo in the other.

The pilots were then evaluated in helicopter simulator flights, resting electroencephalograms (EEGs), and mood questionnaires.

The drug lessened the effects of sleep deprivation in four of six flight maneuvers tested compared to the placebo.

It also reduced slow-wave EEG activity (when one begins to fall asleep, EEG begins to slow) and decreased self-reported problems with mood and alertness.

    What is Herniated Disc ?

As a disc degenerates, it can herniate .

That means the inner core leaks out , which is known as a disc herniation or a herniated disc.

The weak spot in the outer core of the disc is directly under the spinal nerve root, so a herniation in this area puts direct pressure on the nerve, which in turn can cause a pain that radiates all the way down the patient’s leg to the foot.

The research team at the University of Aberdeen concluded that the drug, Rember, slows progression of the disease by up to 81 per cent.

Sufferers taking the drug three times a day for 50 weeks showed a slower decline in blood flow to the parts of the memory that are vital to the memory.

Why Am I Losing Hair at 30 ?

Hair goes through a constant cycle of growing and shedding.

Sometimes much of the head will be in the same cycle, so a large amount of hair comes out at once; new hair is growing in at the same time, but because hair falls out faster than it comes in, thin hair will be the result.

Usually within 6-12 months, the hairs will once again be out of cycle, so you will only lose about 100 hairs a day instead of thousands at a time.

Stress, whether physical or emotional, can cause the hairs to cycle all at once.
Another possible cause for hair loss is increased male hormone levels or unusual sensitivity of your hair follicles to normal amounts of male hormones.

All women produce some amount of the male hormone testosterone.

This is associated with a short growth phase, so hairs fall out more rapidly than they come in.

    Familial Mediterranean Fever

Colchicine is a chemical compound that can be used as a medication, and is frequently prescribed for gout.

Some years ago, colchicine was discovered to also be effective in reducing the frequency and severity of attacks in FMF.

Treatment for FMF at this point consists of taking colchicine daily.

Studies have shown that about 75 percnt of FMF patients achieve complete remission of their symptoms, and about 95 percnt show marked improvement when taking colchicine.

Lower effectiveness has been reported, but there is some question about the number of FMF patients who choose not to take their colchicine between attacks when they are feeling well, and thus lose some of the ability to prevent attacks.

Compliance with taking colchicine every day may be hampered by its side effects, which include diarrhea, nausea, abdominal bloating, and gas.

There is a theoretical risk that colchicine use could damage chromosomes in sperms and eggs, or in an embryo during pregnancy, or that it might reduce fertility.
However, studies looking at reproduction in men and women who have used colchicine have so far not shown any increased risks.

Colchicine is also effective in preventing, delaying, or reversing renal disease associated with amyloidosis.

    What is acne?

According to certain studies, acne varies from quite mild to tremendously severe.

It typically forms when the lining of the skin duct as well as the sebaceous glands start to work overtime.

With the onset of acne, the lining of the duct actually shed cells which are then transported away to the shell of the skin by the sebum.

Once the duct is blocked, it is when the sebum and cells start to amass, forming a plug known as comedo.

Once the plug stays below the plane of the skin, whiteheads or “closed comedo” occurs.

If the plug boosts and pops out of the skin duct, it is called “open comedo” or blackhead since the top is dark.

As you may know, this is not absolutely dirt, thus it will not wash away.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to the formation of acne, but in terms of its real cause, no one is actually certain as to what exactly causes acne to develop or why it starts in adolescence.

However, factor like hereditary top the list.

It has long been deemed as the most important factor that plays a large role in the acne’s development.

As what most people believe, if a member of your family had acne, there is a great possibility that you will have acne too.

Although acne is very prevalent among teenagers, acne should not control your life.

There are a lot of ways to fight acne, and one of those is maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

    Black nail

    Black nail is very common.

It's caused by acute trauma, most commonly jamming a finger or thumb in a door, stubbing a toe - or when the wrong sort of nail gets hit with a hammer.

Subungual means 'under the nail', haematoma means bruise.

As with all bruises in time it will disappear.

Sometimes the nail will fall off because of the damage but it usually grows back.

When the build up of pressure under the nail causes pain, making a small hole in the nail relieves it.

    How to remove pimples ?

Sleep on a clean pillow case every few days, you can put tea tree oil on it at night, use the mint julep mask twice a week.

Also make sure you exfoliate twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells.

Make sure your cleanser has acne medicine and most importantly drink plenty of water.

For years, drug companies (pharmaceuticals AKA Big Pharma) have been taking the public for a costly ride and making a killing in the process -- seriously, a lot of people are dying as a result.

In this documentary, find out how Big Pharma's clever politics and marketing schemes are tailored specifically to empty out our bank accounts and force us to sell-off our homes if need be, for drugs that would otherwise cost a few pesos elsewhere in the world.

    But it doesn't stop there:

With so much profit potential glistening in their eyes, these companies have little incentive to provide cures.

Rather, they recycle old drugs, modifying them ever so slightly (often resulting in deadly cocktails), for the single purpose of acquiring new patents.

Thus, renewing their monopoly over pricing.

Viagra & Heart attack - True story

Sexual problems after a heart attack are common, occurring in one-half to three-quarters of patients.

Both men and women may have less sex or feel less satisfied with sexual activity after heart attack.

A variety of factors may contribute, including side effects of drugs (such as beta blockers), depression, and fears about triggering a new heart attack or dying.

Since sexual activity is a type of physical activity, exercise testing can be used to determine if a person is at any risk of heart problems related to sex.

If a man develops chest pain after taking Viagra, Cialis or Levitra, he should not take nitrates for 24 hours (or longer in some cases).

Instead, the man should rest and wait 10 minutes to see if the pain resolves.
If the pain does not resolve or if the chest pain is severe, he should immediately call for emergency medical services

    Garlic for cholesterol reduction

According to some studies, garlic might decrease blood levels of total cholesterol by a few percentage points.

Other studies, however, suggest that it might not be as beneficial as once thought. It might also have significant side effects and/or interactions with certain medicines.

Garlic might prolong bleeding and blood clotting time, so garlic and garlic supplements should not be consumed prior to surgery and should not be taken with blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin.

    What Is Pilates?

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk.

In addition, pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body's "core" or "powerhouse" (torso).

People who do pilates regularly feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury, and experience better overall health.

There are two ways to exercise in pilates.

Today, most people focus on the mat exercises, which require only a floor mat and training. These exercises are designed so that your body uses its own weight as resistance.

The other method of pilates uses a variety of machines to tone and strengthen the body, again using the principle of resistance.

    Kids’ Snack - Tips

Kids are always looking for snacks.

Instead of sugary sweets or chips, make it easier for them to have a healthy snack time.

The keys are to make healthful snacks in your house visible, convenient and effortless.

Keep fresh fruit on the counter where kids can see it.
Wash and cut up vegetables ahead of time, so they’re ready to eat.
Store them in see-through containers or clear plastic bags so kids can see what’s inside.

Put nutrient-rich foods where they can be easily reached, like on lower shelves in the refrigerator, pantry or cabinet.

Keep cookies and chips in cabinets on higher shelves where they will be less convenient to reach and out of sight.

A little kitchen “arranging” will encourage kids to eat a nutritious snack and they’ll think it was their idea

    Who Killed HealthCare?

According to information released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on June 24, 2007, about 43.6 million people in the United States, or 14.8 percent of the population, had no health insurance in 2006.

The finding, based on a survey of 100,000 people, is lower than previous federal estimates of 46 million. The estimate is based on those who did not have insurance at the time of the interview. About 54.5 million people in the country, or 18.6 percent of the population, had no insurance for at least part of 2006.

Whatever the exact numbers, there is obviously a very serious problem with health care provision in the U.S. In fact, dozens.

    What are flavonoids ??

Flavonoids are water-soluble plant pigments that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can counteract damage to tissues.

Students from UCLA made the conclusion based on a study of the dietary habits of smokers with and without lung cancer.

The flavonoids that appeared to be most effective were catechin (found in strawberries and green and black teas), kaempferol (Brussels sprouts and apples) and quercetin, (beans, onions and apples).

Flavonoids may protect against lung cancer by stopping the development of blood vessels that tumors need to grow and spread.

They may also stop cancer cells from growing, allowing a naturally programmed cell death, or apoptosis, to occur.

Digestive and Liver Disorders in Children

Digestive disorders affecting infants and children range from simple problems that most children experience from time to time, such as vomiting or diarrhea, to more serious (and possibly life-threatening) birth defects such as tracheoesophageal fistula, or illnesses such as appendicitis.
Digestive and liver disorders can have significant effects on the health of a child.

A healthy digestive system processes the foods and liquids that we eat, replenishing vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and fats that are vital for the body to function properly.

Occasional vomiting or diarrhea may lead to dehydration, however, long-term problems with the digestive system and/or liver can deplete these important nutrients, causing malnutrition that affects a child's physical and mental growth and development.

Some digestive disorders, such as vomiting or diarrhea, may be effectively treated by your child's physician. Other times, your child's physician may refer you to a physician who specializes in children's digestive and liver disorders. This specialist is known as a Pediatric Gastroenterologist.

This web provides an overview of the digestive system and liver, how they work, and problems that can occur in these body systems.

    Anxiety And Stress

Everyone feels a little stressed once in a while.

Stress is a very natural thing that happens to people who experience great change.

People can experience stress when they are happy or sad.

Stress is very normal; it can even help people feel motivated to accomplish tasks.

The danger is when the stress begins to cause undue distress.

Too much stress can even lead to physical exhaustion.
Sometimes diseases or illnesses can develop because of stress.
Too much stress include various heart diseases, migraines, high blood pressure and allergies.
Anxiety refers to a feeling of discomfort.
It's not a typical sense of discomfort but extreme unease that can be attributed to having to face stressful situations.
Anxiety, though another normal phenomenon for everyone, can be telling of a serious mental condition, especially useless and excessive anxiety.
Anxiety can be considered a mental health issue when it begins to interfere with a person's daily routine or daily life.
It is also true that when there is severe or long-term and consistent anxiety that this could mean that the person has serious mental health problems.

Physical stressors can act as agents in causing psychological symptoms.
Depression can result from a prolonged illness.
The opposite can also occur; psychological stressors in turn can also create physical symptoms.
The most common type of physical symptom is feeling nauseous when something bad happens or a shortness of breath when unexpected news comes.

When a person feels continuous and overwhelming stress, an anxiety syndrome can develop.
Anxiety is characterized by a feeling of apprehension, the "sick-to-the-stomach" feeling that is associated with fear and nervousness.
Most of the time, people can pinpoint the cause of stress or anxiety.
However, there are cases when the anxiety syndrome seems to be a result of many different things that may not necessarily be too overwhelming individually, but when put together lead to that feeling of mental distress.
